We needed a protector, a family dog- good with kids, and a farm/herding dog. We found these qualities and more in the English Shepherd. Our English Shepherds are our constant shadows, helpers, bodyguards and friends. They help us with the chores, babysit the children and keep the ranch running smoothly. We couldn't ask for a better breed. Our family will have no other dog but an English Shepherd.
English Shepherds are working dogs, valued for their versatility, loyalty, intelligence, and grit. They make wonderful companions and working partners and will do anything asked of them. Fearless and courageous yet loving and gentle. All purpose dog. Calm and steady, willing to please, gentle and patient with children, & trustworthy to their family. Capable of herding any type of livestock, from the meanest bull to the baby chickens. They are prized above herding specialty breeds for being as gentle as possible or as tough as necessary with the stock.
After many years of “city living” our family moved to the country. We now have a small ranch where we raise Nubian and mini Nubian dairy goats, chickens, rabbits, various other animals and English Shepherds.
When we first moved to the country we knew that we needed “the perfect dog.” After much searching we came across a breed that we had never heard of, a breed that met all our needs.
After many years of “city living” our family moved to the country. We now have a small ranch where we raise Nubian and mini Nubian dairy goats, chickens, rabbits, various other animals and English Shepherds.
